Frequently Asked Questions
What is Leafletter?
Leafletter is a web based tool for creating interactive media players. The Widgets couple the benefits of a YouTube® video with the interactive features of a web site.
What makes a Leaflet interactive?
A Leaflet can contain one or more pages. Each page can be a single video or present a combination of up to 20 various pieces of media and notes ("Blocks"). Each Block, displays a preview of the media and, when clicked, presents the complete media.
Where can I publish a Leaflet? Can it be published to more than one place?
The same Leaflet can be published to an unlimited number of blogs, web sites, social networks, and even desktops.
What happens to a Leaflet when it is shared by somebody else?
The Statistics panel will tell you about new locations, views, and interactions with your Leaflet. Updating a Leaflet immediately updates it across all locations.
How do I update a Leaflet once I’ve published it?
Select a Leaflet from the Dashboard and proceed to edit it. Leafletter updates your Widgets in real time, across all published instances.
How do statistics work?
Statistics provide the following real time information about each Leaflet: Total Widget Views, Total Shared Locations, Individual Media Views, and Additional Tracking Information.
Is it possible to change the size of a Leaflet? Can I add it to my Sidebar?
Yes, but this is not a supported use. If you want to try, copy the MySpace embed code from the Share menu and modify the height and width parameters to suit your needs before embedding the Leaflet.
What types of Media are supported?
Uploaded Image, Remote Image, Uploaded MP3, Remote MP3, Uploaded Video, YouTube Video and Note (Rich Text including Hyperlinks)
How do I add media to a Leaflet?
Click a Block. Choose a type of Media to add to it. Follow the steps to upload or reference remote media and describe it.
What happens when I add a Web Link to a Block in my Leaflet?
If somebody clicks the Block you added a Web Link to, they'll be delivered to the URL you've provided. Remember to provide the full URL (for example, http://www.something.com). If the Block also contains media to display, a link icon will appear at the bottom of the player when the media is displayed.
What happens when I add a Page Link to my Leaflet?
The process is the same as above.
When adding an Image, what is the difference between Expand on Click and Do Not Expand on Click?
When somebody mouses over an image in your Leaflet it will either be treated like an MP3 or Video, or treated like a static image, meaning nothing will happen.
How do I change the Page Layout for my Leaflet?
You can change the Page Layout for any page in your Leaflet at any time during the building or editing process. Select the Page Layout tab, preview different layouts in real time, and then click one of the Page Layout icons. Your content will remain intact, so experiment. You can also revert back to the previous page layout.
How do I publish and share a Leaflet?
Use the Share tab. You can publish a Leaflet to dozens of locations with one click, and to any other location by copying and pasting the Embed Code to that location.
What is the difference between my Leaflet Embed Code and my Leaflet URL?
Use an Embed Code when you want the Leaflet itself to be part of the content of a web page, blog post, message board or anywhere else HTML is accepted. Use a URL as part of a Web Link when you do not want the Leaflet itself to appear but only a Web Link to Leafletter.com where your Leaflet can be viewed. The URL is well suited to emailing your Leaflet. |
